PROTEST AT MAYOR GAVIN NEWSOM’S HOUSE! 6/11/08
Sadly, I’ll be out of town (in Baltimore on first day of tour) but I’m glad folks are taking it to Newsom’s house again. Ole Gav is no longer way up in Pac Heights, off Divis in that little condo thing I wrote about in the book. His new digs are in a luxury apartment building at 1101 Green @ Leavenworth called The Bellaire Tower. Flatlanders note: This is up a serious hill. The protest specifically is about Newsom’s proposed new budget cuts to just about every service for the poor (literally delivering “Care Not Cash” I suppose) and in general just about what a cynical, slimy, lying fuckwad this yuppie turd has been for ten goddamn years and how far this once proud city has sunk into the toilet under his watch. The flyer promises dinner and street theater.
