Black Rainbow just got back from a brief tour with our old pals, ShellShag, during which we visited many punk rock Utopias, including Crabb Fest, IdaPalooza, and, of course, Chattanooga’s Do You Hear We? Fest. Ryan from Hidden Spots and Youth Skateboards took this footage of us playing 6/3/2010 at JJ’s from the back window of Revolution Sound Studios. Check it out here…

At last, the Onion Flavored Rings pile in the mini-van with all-star roadie, Erin Yanke, and head out in late September on our first nationwide tour since 2005. The installment #3 of MondoVision, the Bay Area’s only online punk video zine is out now and it includes footage of Black Rainbow’s first show with new bassist, Greg Harvester, at the 11th Annual Clarion Block Party on 10/25/08. TWO NEW BLACK RAINBOW RECORDS OUT NOW!

Black Rainbow is lucky to have found two fine labels to put out 7″‘s for us this summer. Thrillhouse Records of San Francisco put out the first one in time for our summer tour. This record has three songs and comes with a 28-page booklet with information about the Diggers of San Francisco, the Alemany Farm, the Tenderloin National Forest, and former journeyman major-leaguer, Jim Walewander , as well as some art work from Sy Loady, Caroline Paquita, and Joey Alone. The second one came out in time for the 11th Annual Clarion Alley Block Party here in SF on Oakland’s Left Off The Dial records (who put out one of the old Allergic To Bullshit 7″‘s). This one is called We Radiate and has 5 songs. You can order it from Dan at Left Off The Dial here.

YOB will be playing Friday December 5th in Chattanooga at Anarchtica with The Hidden Spots around 10:00 PM. Earlier in the night, Mitchell and I will be appearing at Ziggy’s down the street. I will read and Mitchell’s film, “I’m Like This Every Day” will make its debut in the Region. This show starts at 7:00.

Black Rainbow just played a great show at The Eagle in SF, an occasion which featured the historic meeting of Gary Floyd and Ivy’s mom. We have two 7″s on the way — hopefully in time for our summer tour in July. One will be on Thrillhouse Records from SF and the other will be on Oakland’s Left Off The Dial. We’re planning on heading out to East Coast and The Region for this tour, from mid-July on, and will end at the Mauled By Tigers Fest in Chicago on August 8th. Tour dates posted soon!

ONION FLAVORED RINGS TWO NEW 7″‘s!

Onion Flavored Rings toured to the PAC NW with our friends, TULSA, to celebrate the release of our two new 7″‘s. Perfect Evolution is Steve’s “miniature epic” — a real live concept 7″! It features the mind-breaking silkscreened cover art of Worcester, MA’s Mike Leslie and is still available from Thrillhouse Records. The other one is a split record with our friends, THE FUTURE VIRGINS, from Chattanooga/Pensacola. This one came out on 1-2-3-4-Go! Records from Oakland. Many have commented on the illegibility of the cover art. I want to tell the world that they were misprinted in the wrong colors and, hopefully, the second pressing will be a little clearer.
